London2012: Mexico beat Brazil 2-1 to win soccer gold

LONDON (TheSportsNext) August 11, 2012: Two goals by Orlin Peralta helped Mexico create history at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday as they won their first gold medal in the Games by undoing Brazil by two goals to one in final of the London2012 soccer tournament.

Pakistan Olympics Association faces govt, PSB grilling

ISLAMABAD (TheSportsNext) August 9, 2012: Following a dismal performance of Pakistani athletes at the London2012 Olympic Games, the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) is likely to face grilling by officials of the government and Pakistan Sports Board (PSB).

According to a report published in Nai Baat newspaper on Thursday, the Pakistan Sports Board has decided to implement the Pakistan Sports Policy on the all the sports federations in the light of Supreme Court of Pakistan’s directives.

Gavaskar tracks back on Indo-Pak series comments

PCB formally offers Wasim Akram coaching job

KARACHI (TheSportsNext) August 9, 2012: Days after former Pakistani captain Wasim Akram showed interest in coaching young Pakistani fast bowlers, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), on Thursday, formally offered the legendary left-arm fast bowler a short-term coaching job.

Wasim Akram, who has shown willingness to train young bowlers, is yet to accept the offer as he wants the PCB to look into his busy schedule and work out the time best suited to both parties.
