LAHORE (TheSportsNext) August 9, 2012: The
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), on Wednesday, awarded the country’s former
legendary batsman Javed Miandad the role of looking after the domestic cricket
and national team’s affairs including selection, the charge he had been
demanding for over four years.
The new role includes no say in administrative affairs of
the cricket board, Dawn reported Thursday.
Quoting its sources, the newspaper reported, "Miandad
has been given the task of looking after the domestic cricket and Pakistan team
affairs. The task of dealing with the ICC and member boards and finalising
tours and series remains with the chief operating officer. He has been given
what he has been asking for since he came into the Board in 2008 -- the responsibility
of looking after domestic cricket and Pakistan team issues”.
