Pakistan crash out of London2012 hockey tournament

LONDON (TheSportsNext) August 7, 2012: Australia crushed Pakistan by 7-0 to qualify into semi-finals stage of the London 2012 hockey tournament at Riverbank Arena here Tuesday.

Australia stamped their authority right over Pakistan right at the start of their all-important match as Liam De Young and Mark Knowles gave the Hockeyroos two goals advantage inside the first ten minutes.

Great Britain beat Pakistan 4-1 in London2012 hockey

LONDON (TheSportsNext) August 3, 2012: Ashley Jackson scored twice as Great Britain saw Pakistan off with a 4-1 victory in Group B of the London 2012 hockey tournament here Friday.

Ashley Jackson scored his two goals from the short corner after James Tindall gave the hosts an early lead. The Great Britain were leading the Green Shirts by two goals to nil at halftime.

London2012: Israr, Inam exit as all hopes on hockey stars

KARACHI (TheSportsNext) July 31, 2012: Pakistan athletes continued bowing out at the London 2012 Olympic Games on Tuesday with shooter Khurram Inam and swimmer Israr Hussain failed to make an impression at the biggest sports stage in the world.

Now Pakistan’s Olympics medal hopes are associated with the national hockey team which drew their first match against Spain 1-1 on Monday, while Rabia Ishaq and Liaqat Ali are the other two athletes remaining in the hunt but not a lot is expected from them.

London2012: Pakistan pin hopes on hockey team

KARACHI: With the London2012 action just a few hours away, Pakistan’s sports fans are associating high hopes of a medal by the national hockey team but the road looks bumpy for the former Olympic gold medalists with European teams raising the bar high.

Indian hockey team is also looking to exhibit an impressive show as both Pakistan and its bitter neighbours are facing an uphill task at the London2012. Indian hockey team has won eight medals while Pakistan claimed three victories at the Olympics.

Belgium beat Pakistan 2-0 in Olympic warm-up
