KARACHI (TheSportsNext) August 4, 2012: The Great
Britain gave Pakistan a serious pounding in the London 2012 Hockey Tournament on
Friday night but Pakistani skipper Sohail Abbas clearly lost his composure as
leader of the team as he was involved in a blunder right at the start of second
half.
Referee Marcelo Servetto showed green card to Pakistani
hockey player Muhammad Waqas at the stroke of first half which meant that the
Green Shirts should field 10 players in the second half until the ban completed
its tenure.
However, Pakistani skipper Sohail Abbas, who scored his 347th
international goal in the match, looked under tremendous pressure and
completely forgot the referee’s instructions and all eleven Pakistani players
took the field when the second half begun.
Marcelo Servetto soon spotted the discrepancy and made
Sohail Abbas to join Muhammad Waqas on the bench for the technical foul.
