(TheSportsNext) August 4, 2012: Cricket fans who are planning to tour Sri
Lanka to watch final of the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 cricket tournament this
year should review their plans as all the tickets of the final have already
been sold.
The International Cricket Council said Saturday that while
the tickets for final have been sold out, the ones for other matches in the
tournament are still available.
The 2012 ICC World Twenty20 Cricket Tournament will start
from September 8, 2012 in various cricket grounds of Sri Lanka and the third
phase of tickets sales to the public got underway on August 1, 2012.
The tournament director, Upekha Nell said in a statement, “We
are excited to announce that tickets to a much anticipated finals have been
sold out with the opening of the third phase of ticket sales. I urge all
cricket fans to purchase their tickets, as they are selling out fast and be a
part of this exciting sporting event."
Tickets for the super eight matches to be played in
Pallekele as well as the two semi-finals at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo
are also fast selling out.
