London2012: Former Olympians fancy Pakistan chances vs Great Britain

KARACHI (TheSportsNext) August 2, 2012: Former Pakistani Olympians said Thursday that Pakistan has capable enough side to defeat Great Britain in the London2012 hockey tournament.

Talking to local media here, former captain and Olympian Shahbaz Ahmed Senior said that that national hockey team played exceptionally well against Argentina and never allowed them to dictate terms.



He added that if Pakistan emulate their passion in the match against Great Britain, they would qualify for the semi-finals stage of the London2012 hockey tournament.

Former Olympian Samiullah, also known as Flying Horse, said that the best part about Pakistan’s London 2012 campaign is that they are yet to be beaten in the tournament and with Great Britain drawing their match against South Africa, Pakistan’s chances are getting enhanced.

Another former Pakistani hockey player Jan Mohammad said that Pakistani forward-line is playing in a unison which is a good sign for the upcoming games.

Pakistan have four points from their first two matches and if they defeat Great Britain then they will have one foot into the semi-finals stage of the London2012 hockey tournament.
