London2012: Pakistan beat Korea 3-2 to secure 7th position

LONDON (TheSportsNext) August 9, 2012: Pakistani
skipper Sohail Abbas achieved yet another milestone in international hockey on
Thursday as he led his country to seventh place in the London 2012 Hockey
Tournament with a 3-2 victory over Korea at Riverbank Arena.
Pakistan had ended at eighth position in the Beijing 2008
Olympic Games but this time they managed to lift their game against Korea to
secure the seventh position after a horrible defeat to the hands of Hockeyroos
the other day.

London2012: Sohail Abbas’s blunder as captain

Britain gave Pakistan a serious pounding in the London 2012 Hockey Tournament on
Friday night but Pakistani skipper Sohail Abbas clearly lost his composure as
leader of the team as he was involved in a blunder right at the start of second
half.

Great Britain beat Pakistan 4-1 in London2012 hockey

LONDON (TheSportsNext) August 3, 2012: Ashley
Jackson scored twice as Great Britain saw Pakistan off with a 4-1 victory in
Group B of the London 2012 hockey tournament here Friday.
Ashley Jackson scored his two goals from the short corner
after James Tindall gave the hosts an early lead. The Great Britain were
leading the Green Shirts by two goals to nil at halftime.

London2012: Samiullah asks Green Shirts to cut mistakes

KARACHI (TheSportsNext) August 2, 2012: Pakistan’s
former Olympian Samiullah Khan Niazi urged the national hockey team to cut down
on their mistakes if they want to challenge the very best in the London 2012
hockey tournament.
Talking to local media after Pakistan defeated Argentina by
two goals to nil, Samiullah, also known as Flying Horse, said that while it was
good to see Pakistan scoring goals from short corners but at the same time they
lacked field goals which are equally important to win big games.

New York City is next stop for NHL labor talks

NEW YORK
(TheSportsEncounter) July 31, 2012: The National Hockey League franchise
owners and the NHL Players Association will meet yet again this week in New
York City to further their NHL Labor Talks.
The existing NHL labor agreement is expiring on September
15, 2012 and most of the NHL fans are still in a fix about the future of the
NHL 2013 season as many of them fear a 2004-like situation when the NHL
organizers had to lose the whole season due to differences on the labor deal.

Girls hockey summer camp concludes in Lahore

LAHORE (TheSportsNext) July 24, 2012: The
second summer camp of Galaxy Sports Academy concluded here at the historical
Railways stadium in which girls from 10 to 16 years old participated.
Galaxy Sports Academy chief operating officer and
international hockey player Rabia Qadir trained the girls as a coach. The
participants were provided all the necessary equipments and facilities free of
cost.

NHL, NHLPA to resume labor talks tomorrow
