LONDON (TheSportsNext) August 7, 2012: Australia crushed Pakistan by 7-0 to qualify into semi-finals stage of the London 2012 hockey tournament at Riverbank Arena here Tuesday.

Australia stamped their authority right over Pakistan right at the start of their all-important match as Liam De Young and Mark Knowles gave the Hockeyroos two goals advantage inside the first ten minutes.

Pakistani goal-keeper Imran Shah was the busiest player in the match and while he saved a number of potential goals he couldn’t stop Christopher Ciriello to add two goals for the Aussies who entered the halfway stage with four goals advantage.

Australians tightened the screws on Pakistan in the second half and scored three more goals which put an end to Pakistan’s Olympic hockey campaign.
