Nagas win SLPL2012 opener by 5 runs on D/L Method

COLOMBO (TheSportsNext) August 11, 2012: Nagenahira Nagas started the inaugural Sri Lanka Premier League 2012 on a winning note here Saturday when they defeated Ruhana Royals by five runs on Duckworth/Lewis Method at R Premadasa Stadium in the opening match of the competition.

COLOMBO: The inaugural version of the Sri Lanka Premier League (SLPL2012) was dealt a severe blow on Wednesday when West Indian Twenty20 star batsman Chris Gayle withdrew his name from the tournament citing a serious groin injury.

Shoaib Malik upbeat on SLPL 2012 participation

LAHORE (TheSportsNext) August 3, 2012: Pakistan’s former cricket captain Shoaib Malik is excited about the inaugural season of Sri Lanka Premier League which is commencing from August 11, 2012.

Talking to local media here Friday, Shoaib Malik, who married Indian tennis star Sania Mirza, said that the SLPL2012 is being organized just at the right time and it will benefit Pakistani cricketers the most.
