Pakistan National Games to have 27 disciplines

LAHORE, Pakistan (TheSportsNEXT) December 6, 2012: The 32nd edition of the National Games will have a total of 27 disciplines, TheSportsNEXT.com has learnt.


The National Games are scheduled to be held in Lahore from December 22-28, 2012.

This decision to select 27 disciplines was taken in a meeting of the representatives of the various national federations Thursday where the participants reviewed as well as finalized the arrangements.

“We will be holding 27 disciplines, some of them are for women, during the Games and we will hold the Games in a befitting manner,” said Punjab Olympic Association (PbOA) secretary Idrees Haider Khawaja after the meeting.

He said women would be featuring in as many as dozens of disciplines.

The representatives of all the National Sports Federations, Provincial Olympic Associations, Punjab Olympic Associations, Army, Navy, PAF, Wapda, Railways, Police, HEC and FATA attended the meeting. “All the participating units have confirmed their participation in the Games with their full fledge contingents,” he said.

“We will soon be announcing various committees for the smooth conduct of the event for which we have selected a number of arenas in the city,” Idrees Haider Khawaja concluded.
