CENTURION, South Africa (TheSportsNEXT) October 13, 2012: South African veteran all-rounder Jacques Kallis had to rush to a local hospital on Saturday after his fellow countryman Morne Morkel hit him on fingers with a rising delivery.

The incident occurred during a Group A match of the Champions League Twenty20 tournament between Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils at SuperSport Park in Centurion when Jacques Kallis came at the crease for the Indian Premier League champions.

Chasing a hefty total, Kolkata Knight Riders were limited to three down for four runs before Morne Morkel got one of his deliveries to rise abnormally to hit Jacques Kallis on his fingers.

Jacques Kallis had to retire-hurt on naught after facing only two deliveries and then later had to visit a local hospital for x-ray as the all-rounder wants to stay fit for the upcoming Test series against Australia in down under.

It is important to mention here that Jacques Kallis has been a star performer for both South Africa and the Kolkata Knight Riders as the veteran all-rounder has scored 666 runs in 25 Twenty20 International cricket at an average of 35.05 runs per innings while at Twetny20 cricket all levels, Kallis has scored 3188 runs in 114 matches at an average of 34.65 runs per innings.
