(TheSportsNext) August 30, 2012: Kevin Mirallas scored twice as Everton
cruised to a 5-0 humiliation of third-tier side Leyton Orient at Goodison Park
on Wednesday.
The victory has lifted Everton into third round of the
English League Cup 2012 as Kevin Mirallas celebrated his first start for the
Merseysiders and enjoyed his time on the pitch as he found the net twice. The
Belgian striker, who was signed earlier this month from Greek soccer club
Olympiakos, also helped setting up two other goals as Everton were enjoying a
healthy 4-0 lead at halfway stage.
Kevin Mirallas scored his first goal in the 16th
minute then assisted Leon Osman to score his goal in 22nd minute and
then scored again just two minutes later before providing Victor Anichebe with
a perfect ball to make it 4-0 for the English Premier League side with 10
minutes play still left in the first half.
Leyton Orient were never up to the task on Wednesday and
couldn’t emulate on their performance against another Championship side
Charlton Athletic the other day when they won the first round encounter on
penalty shootout.
Magaye Gueye delivered the final punch and packed the Leyton
Orient by hitting final nail in the coffin in the 67th minute as the
Everton completed a 5-0 romp.
