LAHORE (TheSportsNext) July 21, 2012: Amid
reports of England emerging as the option for hosting India for a reciprocal
series, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have strongly rejected the impression
saying Pakistan is the top option to host the neighbours.
Pakistan-India Cricket Series |
Nadeem Sarwar, Media Manager at PCB, told local media on
Saturday, “I want to make it crystal clear that the PCB hasn’t even thought
about the reciprocal series against India so there is no truth in any reports
on this issue”.
He added, “Whenever that series comes under discussion, the
first choice is going to be Pakistan”.
Pakistan will tour India in December this year to play One
Day International and Twenty20 International series but there is no plan yet
for a reciprocal tour, he stated.
It is important to mention here that no international
cricket team is ready to tour Pakistan since March 2009 when Sri Lankan cricket
team was attacked in Lahore enroute to Gaddafi Stadium. Cricket experts are of
the view that if Indian cricket board is willing to send its team to Pakistan
then it would give a strong message to the cricketing world and it would remove
every hurdle in the way of international cricket returning to Pakistan.
