Dope test puts an end to Frank Schleck Tour de France 2012

PARIS, France (TheSportsNext) July 18, 2012: Frank Schleck, the Luxembourg rider, failed a dope test on Tuesday which has put an end to his Tour de France 2012 endeavors.

The announcement was made by RadioShack-Nissan team spokesman after the International Cycling Union (UCI) made public Frank Schleck’s failed dope test.

UCI had announced that Frank Schleck had returned an adverse analytical finding for the diuretic Xipamide but the authorities didn’t ban the Luxembourg rider from taking part in the remainder of the Tour de France 2012.

However, when reporters asked the RadioShack-Nissan spokesman whether the rider would continue after such embarrassment, the answer wasn’t in the affirmative.

According to the International Cycling Union statement issued earlier in the day, "Earlier today, the UCI advised the Luxembourger rider Frank Schleck of an adverse analytical finding (presence of the diuretic Xipamide...) in the urine sample collected from him at an in competition test at the Tour de France on 14 July 2012."
