TORONTO (TheSportsNext) August 9, 2012: Former Indian Test skipper Sunil Gavaskar, on Thursday, took a u-turn from his original stance about the upcoming Pakistan-India cricket series saying his comments were misconcepted.

Talking to NDTV, India’s living cricket legend clarified his stance saying Indian players required time to rest for the England series and this is where they are going to play against Pakistan.

Gavaskar stated, “My reaction to the proposed Pakistan team’s tour to India was not reported in its correct perspective. No doubt I had some reservations but only emotional part of my feelings was played up in the media.”

Earlier, Gavaskar was quoted as saying by both Pakistani and Indian media that since Pakistan was not cooperating with India on the Mumbai terror attacks probe therefore the series shouldn’t be on.
