NEW YORK
(TheSportsNext) September 3, 2012: World number on Roger Federer, a
five-time US Open champion, exhibited his class with a comfortable 6-3 6-4 6-4
victory over Spaniard Fernando Verdasco on Saturday to storm into the last-16
for the 12th consecutive year.

On the other hand, Andy Murray, who may meet Federer in the
semi-final, only managed to secure a place in the last-16 round after a
four-hour-long battle over Feliciano Lopez of Spain which he eventually claimed
by 7-6 (7/5) 7-6 (7/5) 4-6, 7-6 (7/4).
Murray will now face Milos Raonic of Canada, who is seeded
15th in the tournament.
