Kainaat, Pakistan’s tennis rising star

By AM Khan

ISLAMABAD (TheSportsNext) August 14, 2012: Kainaat Khan, ninth class student of Rawalpindi, has already started to make waves into tennis world in a very short span of time and won numerous tournaments in which she had participated.

Kainaat said that she preferred tennis on other sports as she liked this sport. She said that she felt that there was no dearth of talent in the country but girls’ absence felt seriously.

She added she praised her parents for supporting her by bearing expenses to help her continue playing and learning tennis through best available coaches. “My first dream is to become national champion and then to earn a spot in world's top ten players as early as possible.”

“I am focusing on tennis and already established an NGO namely Kainaat Welfare Society and Sports Education Trust and distributing rackets, balls and other sporting accessories among the needy kids who had the desire to excel in sports but couldn't afford to buy expensive stuff required to fulfill their dreams,” she added.

Kainaat was awarded a special medal by legendary cricketer and former captain Imran Khan in recognition of her services. She had won medals and certificates in many tennis events and would soon raise the flag of country high at international level and try to win championships a feat no other Pakistani girl had managed to achieve in tennis.
