South Africa vs Australia Test Series Review

By Adrian Meredith

MELBOURNE, Australia (TheSportsNEXT) December 3, 2012: So after three classic test matches, we finished with a 1-0 series result, with South Africa finishing victors, retaining top spot (they would have gone to second had they lost the series, and Australia would have gone to first) and, according to some, they "dominated the series".

Australia vs South Africa: Aussies tested in Brisbane Test

By Adrian Meredith

MELBOURNE, Australia (TheSportsNEXT) November 13, 2012: I am not going to do a day five wrap up; but instead look at the test as a whole. The major talking point that affected the test was the injury to J P Duminy. He didn't get to bat or bowl, as it happened overnight, before he was due to bat. He didn't even get to field. It meant that for the whole match South Africa had 10 men vs Australia's 11.

For some reason I missed that. He was originally given not out; but the South Africans were sure that he was out and reviewed it.

By Adrian Meredith

MELBOURNE, Australia (TheSportsNEXT) November 4, 2012: I can hardly believe it but the Australian cricket selectors have just picked Rob Quiney to replace Shane Watson in the test team, and he is tipped to be "very likely" to make his test debut!

MELBOURNE, Australia (TheSportsNEXT) October 24, 2012: It has been commented recently by Shane Warne, Australia's last decent spinner, that right now Australia should consider all-pace in most conditions. This is coming from a spin bowler! And that says enough for me.
