KARACHI (TheSportsNext) August 8, 2012: Pakistan’s
final hopes of winning a medal at the London 2012 were dashed on Wednesday when
their female athlete Rabia Ashiq finished sixth in the women’s 800 meters
preliminary round.
Rabia Ashiq, after finishing sixth in the women’s 800m
preliminary round, failed to qualify in the next round and with her exit,
Pakistan’s last hope of winning any medal faded away.
Rabia finished with timing of 2 minutes 17 seconds which was
second to her personal best of 2 minutes 10.65 seconds.
