Inzamam-ul-Haq’s father laid to rest

LAHORE (TheSportsNext) August 27, 2012: Father of former Pakistan Test captain and legendary batsman Inzamam-ul-Haq, who breathed his last on Saturday, was laid to rest in the local graveyard near Cavalry ground Cantt on Sunday with huge number of fans, family members, and friends taking part in the funeral.

A large number of cricket greats including ex PCB chiefs Tauqeer Zia, Khalid Mehmood, Ijaz Butt, former players Saeed Anwar, Mushtaq Ahmad, Ijaz Ahmad, Moin Khan, Intikhab Alam, Zakir Khan and Mohammad Yousuf, Salman Butt, PTI’s Ahsan Rasheed and Jamaat-e-Islami’s Liaquat Baloch along with people from various walks of life were present at the funeral prayers who prayed to Allah Almighty that may the departed soul rest in eternal peace.



Mohammad Yousuf, Ijaz Ahmed, Moin Khan, Tauqir Zia, Liaquat Baloch participated in funeral of Inzamam ul Haq's father.



Meanwhile, Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari expressed sorrow and grief over the demise of the father of renowned cricketer Inzamam-ul-Haq.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Zaka Ashraf, chairperson women wing Mrs. Bushra Aitazaz and COO Subhan Ahmed have also condoled the sad demise of father of the former Test captain. Lahore Region Cricket Association (LRCA) president, secretary and treasurer also condoled the death.

In their condolence messages, they prayed to the Almighty Allah to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss with fortitude.

Inzamam’s father, who passed away after a protracted illness on Saturday, had been under treatment at a hospital in Karachi. His body was brought to Lahore for burial.

Talking to TheSportsNext.com after the funeral prayers, Inzamam said: “All the achievements, success and honours I have earned at national and international level are just because of prayers of my parents. There is no alternate to parents and we must serve our parents so much that there should be no repentance after their death.”

“I will try my best to do something which may prove sadqa-e-jaria for my parents and they will be forgiven by Almighty Allah. Ameen!”, he added.

Qul of Inzamam-ul-Haq’s father will be held today (Monday) at 4pm at his residence Hameed Jan Road near Army Guest House.
