Anamul Haque of Bangladesh U19 |
VICTORIA, Australia
(TheSportsNext) August 27, 2012: I disagree with William Bosisto being
named as player of the ICC U19 World Cup 2012. Scoring 276 runs at an average
of 276.00 and at a strike rate of 55.15 do not make good reading for me - not
for a one day tournament. He was only 5th on the run scoring list.
So here are my own awards!

Javed Ahmadi (Afghanistan) scored 285 runs avg 47.50 S/R 104.39

Mohammad Nawaz of Pakistan U19 |
Best player:
Associate team:
Christopher Kent (Papua New Guinea) - all rounder.
Runner up: Anamal
Haque (Bangladesh) - batsman.
Winner: Reece
Topley (England) - bowler.
There you have it. Bosisto is not in the mix even. He wasn't
even the best in Australia!
I also should mention Quinton de Kock, who, on top of his
runs, took 15 catches in six matches, to be the standout keeper! Unfortunately,
he didn't score runs when it mattered (while Anamal Haque did) and hence
couldn't get the award.
Reece Topley of England U19 |
