Australia U19 scored 225 for 8 from their 50 overs while
India chased down the target from 47.4 overs as Unmukt Chand (111*) and Smit
Patel (62*) joined forces in 130-run fifth wicket partnership to steal the
victory.
Earlier, Aussie skipper William Bosisto (87) and AJ Turner (43)
helped Australia to undo their top-order batting woes to give them a
respectable total. Sandeep Sharma grabbed four wickets for 54 runs to dent
Aussie innings right till the end.
India were looking in a spot of bother when they lost four
wickets for 97 runs on the board but Unmukt Chand and Smit Patel guided them to
the all-important victory.
Unmukt Chand was declared Man of the Match for his match-winning
effort with the bat in the final of the ICC U19 World Cup 2012 while Australian
captain William Bosisto was name Player of the Tournament.
