(TheSportsNext) August 28, 2012: Pakistan’s premier offspin bowler Saeed
Ajmal completed 100 wickets in One Day International career at Sharjah Cricket
Stadium on Tuesday.
Saeed Ajmal achieved the milestone during the first One Day
International between Pakistan and Australia when he sent his eternal rival
Mike Hussey for only five runs.
It is merit mentioning here that Saeed Ajmal is the world’s
third best bowler in One Day Internationals as per the Reliance ICC ODI
Rankings for Bowlers, only behind his countryman Mohammad Hafeez at first place
and Lonwanbe Tsotsobe of South Africa at second position.
Saeed Ajmal followed Mike Hussey’s wicket up by dismissal of
his brother David Hussey and now has 101 wickets in his 69th One Day
International match.
Saeed Ajmal completed his 100 ODI career wickets in his 69th
match and has joined Abdul Qadir of Pakistan in the list of fastest to 100 ODI
wickets as he also had achieved the feat in his 69th match.
The fastest bowler to 100 ODI wickets was Saqlain Mushtaq
who grabbed the record in 53rd match while Shane Bond of New Zealand
and Brett Lee of Australia are second and third in the list by achieving the
feat in their 53rd and 54th match, respectively.
