LONDON
(TheSportsNext) July 30, 2012: The London2012 cauldron which was
extinguished for relocation to another place of the stadium on Sunday, returned
to life as the organizer relit at 7am local time (0600 GMT) here Monday.
It was reported on Sunday that the Olympic cauldron, which
traditionally stays buring during the course of the Games, was seen unlit at
around 11.14pm local time (2214 GMT).
The organizers then came up with the statement that they had
put the cauldron off to relocate it to other part of the stadium.
Jackie Brock-Doyle, director of communications for the
London Olympics organizers told local media, "The cauldron has been put
out while we move it to another part of the stadium”.
It is important to mention here that the London 2012 cauldron
was originally situated right in the middle of the stadium and even after
relocation it is not visible from the outside which has attracted fair bit of
criticism because traditionally the cauldron can be seen burning from outside
of the Games’ stadium.
