Abbas, who is the youngest player with the Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association
(STBA), won the 3rd TISSOT SSB Ranking Bowling Tournament 2012 with a
tournament score of 609 points at Royal Rodale Club on Wednesday night.
The title victory fetched Ahmer Abbas prize money worth
45000 rupees, a TISSOT Sports Watch along with a Gold medal.
Aleem Agha was the runners-up with 576pts and received 5,000
rupees with a silver medal, whereas Farhaj Ahmed secured third position with
547pts and was awarded 3,000 rupees along with a bronze medal.
The Top scorer of the tournament was Hasnain Rangoonwala
with 259 Points as he received 45000 worth Tissot Sports Watch by Mr. Aamir
Khan, Brand Manager, Tissot on scoring 1312 in six games.
The tournament was a series of Ranking event conducted in
every quarter by Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association (STBA) under the auspices of
Sindh Sports Board.
In doubles event, after aggressive game play Ahmer Abbas and
Abid Ali secured 1st position (376pts) and received 5,000 rupees and a Gold
medal. The 2nd Position was obtained by Usman Ghani and Raja Ejaz by scoring
361pts and received 3000 cash prize with a silver medal. The 3rd Position was
secured by Zahid Mehmood and Waleed Mukhtar (346pts) and received 3,000 rupees
as well as a bronze medal.
Romis Ali, who is General Secretary Sindh Tenpin Bowling
Association (STBA) and Joint Secretary of Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation
(PTBF), told TheSportsNext, "I feel glad that youngsters are becoming
competitive and leading the events with their outstanding performances”.
He said, “The enthusiastic participation and performance by
youth has become significantly prominent than ever, which is indeed a major
development”.
“I am sure that such events will strengthen the sports in
the roots of the society which will result in fruitful outcomes soon”, he
added.
Thanking MD Royal Rodale Club, Asghar Rangoonwala, Romis Ali
said, “Mr. Rangoonwala has supported us with healthy and supportive
administration at his venue and he is indeed a key personality in promoting
discipline in Tenpin Bowling".
In Amateur Singles category, Jawwad Usman with stunning
performance secured 1st position (491 pts) and received 45000 rupees worth
TISSOT Sports Watch along with a Gold medal. Abid Ahmed was the runner-up with
479 pts which earned him 5,000 rupees and a Silver medal, while Osama Ayoub
took third Position with score of 457 points and collected 3,000 rupees and a
bronze medal. The top scorer in the amateur singles category was Osama Ayub who
scored 189 Points.
Mr. Amin Nasir (Vice President, STBA) warmly welcomed Chief
Guest, Mr. Shaikh Muhammad Naseem, CEO, Kings Chemical Corporation to honour
the award ceremony with his gracious presence.
The chief guest was accompanied by Mr. Ahmed Ali Rajput
(Secretary, Sindh Olympic Association) and Mr. Muhammad Saeed, Asst Director
Sind Sports Board.
While talking to media, the chief guest encouraged STBA for
organizing one of a kind Tenpin bowling tournament.
He distributed trophies, medals and prizes up to 100,000 rupees
to the victorious participants.
