Graeme Swann prefers sick daughter over national duty

By Abhishek Manroa

NEW DELHI, India (TheSportsNEXT) November 8, 2012: England off-spinner Graeme Swann became the second England cricketer to return home from India tour to be with the family, thus preferring personal lives over national duties.

The England side is already struggling with injury and fitness problems with fast bowlers Steven Finn and Stuart Broad already confirmed having injury issues and with Ian Bell is scheduled to be with his wife for birth of his child during the India tour, England team management was already in a fix.

And now, Graeme Swann has decided to leave England cricket team in turmoil to be with
his sick daughter in England.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed on Wednesday that Graeme Swann will fly back to England but said he will return to India in time for England first Test match against India in Ahmeadabad from November 15.

Graeme Swann will miss the final warm-up match of England as the team management will have to think hard to play the right combination.

It is important to mention here that Steven Finn is struggling with a thigh injury while Stuart Broad is nursing a bruised heel and both are highly unlikely to be part of the England team for the final warm-up against Haryana starting today.
