ICC U19 World Cup: Ireland edge Nepal out by 10 runs

TOWNSVILLE, Australia (TheSportsNext) August 15, 2012: Ireland U19 defeated Nepal U19 by 14 runs in their Group A match of the 2012 ICC U19 World Cup played at Endeavour Park in Townsville on Wednesday.


 

Batting first, Ireland U19 scored 185 for 8 from their 50 overs with Shane Getkate (47) and Andy McBrine (41) scoring bulk of the runs while on the other hand Avinash Karn (2/37), Prithu Baskota (2/39), RK Vishvakarma (2/31), and Bhuvan Karki (2/43) all took two wickets apiece.

Nepal U19 needed one anchoring effort which they lacked as the whole team was bowled out for 171 runs from 49.3 overs, thus falling 14 runs short of their target. George Dockrell captured four wickets for 22 runs and was declared Man of the Match.
