(TheSportsNext) August 30, 2012: Indian batting legend Rahul Dravid
continued to glitter among cricket stars on Wednesday when he bagged the
prestigious Castrol Test Cricketer of the Year Award.
In a cricket star-studded ceremony held in Bangalore, Suresh
Raina received the Best Batsman in Limited Overs award while another legend
Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar captured Batsman of the Year.
The ceremony was held to celebrate the highlights of Indian
cricket in the Year 2011 where India won the ICC Cricket World Cup title
besides registering meaningful home and away victories.
The Castrol awards cricketers for their contribution to the
game loved the most in sub-continent every year and this time Ajit Wadekar was
given the Lifetime Achievement Award while the young star Unmukt Chand was
awarded as the Junior Cricketer of the Year.
The glittering gathering of Indian cricketers, former and
present, missed Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni and the cancer-survivor
Yuvraj Singh who were absent from the ceremony.
EAS Prasanna handed the Best Bowler Award to Ravichandran
Ashwin as the orthodox offspin bowler has made a huge reputation in the last
year or so and was declared Man of the Match in the recently concluded
Hyderabad Test where he grabbed 12 wickets in the match.
